Silica sand, also known as silica or quartz sand. It is a refractory particle with quartz as the main mineral component and a particle size of 0.020mm-3.350mm, which is divided into artificial silica sand and natural silica sand such as washed sand, scrubbing sand, and selected (flotation) sand according to different mining and processing methods. Silica sand is a hard, wear-resistant, chemically stable silicate mineral, its main mineral composition is SiO2, the color of silica sand is milky white or colorless translucent, hardness 7, brittleness without cleavage, shell-like fracture, grease luster, relative density of 2.65, its chemical, thermal and mechanical properties have obvious anisotropy, insoluble in acid, slightly soluble in KOH solution, melting point 1750 °C. The color is milky white, light yellow, brown and gray, silica sand has high fire resistance.
