Donsco’s fully automated integral foundry
Founded in 1906, the two Donsco, Pennsylvania-based foundries employ 350 people and produce short- and long-running gray iron, ductile iron, and alloy castings weighing up to 150 pounds. From mold to molding to the final finished product, the one-stop casting service provided by it is extremely popular with customers.
Therefore, the total foundry solution from Norican Group was ideally suited to support Donsco’s lean services. The new foundry’s production line showcased all the processes in its entirety, starting with sand treatment using Simpsons’ Hartley dosing system, double disc mixer and multi-function cooler, followed by DISAMATIC D3-A-425 moulding and casting cleaning using Wheelabrard 2 TMS 34-250 in combination with the MB series.
